The Barrow BID Business Grant Scheme is designed to make Barrow town centre a better, busier and brighter place to visit and help support businesses.

Following our Business Growth Grant Scheme which we invested £37,500 into, which was heavily oversubscribed, Barrow BID are now investing a further £20,000 into the new Business Grant Scheme over the next two years with an aim of supporting over 20 applications. The grant will cover 50% of eligible project costs and the payment is exclusive of VAT.

The grant scheme is aimed at businesses located within the Barrow BID area, public sector bodies or private companies seeking to deliver improvements within the Barrow BID area, which will have a positive impact on the town centre or local businesses.

Eligible applicants are:

• Barrow BID Levy Payers
• New businesses moving into current qualifying BID Levy hereditaments
• Voluntary BID Levy Payers (Max grant £1,000)

Projects could include:

• Exterior Improvements to a property.
• Bringing a vacant property back into use.
• Sustainability or accessability improvements.
• Provision of community or communal space.
• Energy efficiency/green energy improvements.
• Staff Training/Development
