Business Support Advisor (Volunteer Role)

The Barrow Business Improvement District (BID) was established in September 2016 when town centre businesses voted to create a BID area encompassing the town centre in Barrow in Furness. Once established, every business within the BID area MUST pay a BID Levy based on 1.5% of their rateable value (as of 1st September 2016).
If a business has a rateable value of £4000 or less, they are exempt from joining the BID, however, being part of Barrow BID has certain advantages and businesses who are located in the Barrow BID area and are under the levy paying threshold may want to become a voluntary BID member.

Voluntary BID Members will be able to take advantage of the benefits and will be able to vote on local matters affecting the town centre and their business. Unfortunately, (due to the legislation of National BIDs), they are not able to vote in the 3rd term ballot or subsequent ballots.
The cost of becoming a Voluntary Barrow BID Member is £60 for businesses with premises under the RV of £4,000. The fee is an annual fee and will be invoiced directly by the Barrow BID Company Limited.
