
Barrow Does Comics takes over venues across Barrow town centre on Saturday 18th April, bringing a day of creativity, storytelling and comic art to the heart of the town.
The event features a range of workshops, activities and opportunities to meet artists, making it easy to explore comics in a hands-on, engaging way. From learning how to create characters to building your own stories, there’s plenty to get involved in throughout the day.
The event will welcome world-famous comic artists including Charlie Adlard, best known for The Walking Dead, and Sean Phillips, known for his work on Criminal (soon to be an Amazon Prime series), alongside local talent such as Barrovian illustrator Sarah Jane Docker.
Visitors can also explore the Comic Marketplace, where a wide range of artists will be showcasing and selling their work - perfect for discovering new comics and picking up unique pieces directly from the creators.
Whether you’re already a comics fan or just curious to try something new, Barrow Does Comics offers an creative day out in Barrow town centre.

From the M6 motorway, exit the M6 at junction 36 and continue along the A590 signposted Barrow.
Pass through the market town of Ulverston and through the village of Lindal in Furness, then take the 2nd exit at the roundabout prior to Dalton in Furness to by-pass the town. (to the right you will see Dalton Zoo).
At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit straight-on and head down the hill. At the next roundabout take the 1st exit along Park Road, which take you the scenic route into Barrow in Furness. Now take the 2nd exit and head along Abbey Road, past the Abbey House Hotel and into the town centre.
