Kick-start the festive season with Barrow's spectacular Christmas Lights Switch On! Enjoy a fantastic day of entertainment and activities in the town centre, including live stage performances, free creative workshops, the chance to meet some adorable alpacas, an Extreme Mountain Bike Show, ride-on train and funfair attractions. There's plenty to keep the whole family entertained as we come together to celebrate the start of Christmas in Barrow.

All aboard the Santa Express! Hop on board our festive land train and enjoy free rides around Barrow town centre, taking in the Christmas lights and seasonal atmosphere along the way. There will also be a range of festive activities taking place around the town, making it the perfect opportunity to bring the family into Barrow, enjoy some Christmas magic and make a day of it!
Get into the Christmas spirit at our festive Christmas Market, delivered in partnership with Westmorland and Furness Council. Taking place across Portland Walk and The Bridge, the market will showcase a fantastic selection of local makers, independent traders and unique stalls. It's the perfect opportunity to discover handmade gifts, find something a little different and support local businesses while enjoying the festive atmosphere of Barrow town centre.
There's plenty of festive fun to discover with Barrow BID's Christmas Stamp Card Trail! Explore a range of activities and attractions across the town centre, collecting stamps as you go. This year's attractions include a giant Ferris wheel, ride-on train, creative workshops, RC car track, snowboard simulator and much more! Pick up your stamp card, get involved and enjoy a fantastic festive family day out while discovering everything Barrow has to offer.

From the M6 motorway, exit at Junction 36 and continue along the A590 signposted Barrow.
Pass through the market town of Ulverston and through the village of Lindal-in-Furness, then take the 2nd exit at the roundabout prior to Dalton-in-Furness. At the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit straight-on and head down the hill.
At the following roundabout, take the 1st exit along Park Road, which will take you the scenic route into Barrow-in-Furness. Take the 2nd exit at the final roundabout and head along Abbey Road, past the Abbey House Hotel, and continue until you reach the town centre.
