Barrow BID is a not for profit organisation set up in September 2016, creating a business community to promote and regenerate Barrow’s Town Centre following a vote of town centre businesses in April 2016.
Barrow BID went back to ballot in the summer of 2021 and have been elected to continue their work promoting and regenerating Barrow town centre for another 5 year period until 31st August 2026.
The scheme is funded by local town centre businesses who pay a levy based on the rateable value (RV) of their premises. The rateable value is set at 1st September each year and the levy is fixed at 1.5% of the RV of premises within the BID area. Invoicing and collection of the levy is undertaken by Westmorland and Furness Council.

Visit Barrow
Barrow BID are the lead on the Visit Barrow brand, which is the main tourism brand for Barrow and the surrounding area.
The COVID pandemic has led to more people holidaying at home 'staycations' and the Visit Barrow brand enables us to promote Barrow in Furness to the rest of the UK and highlight the wonderful attractions and locations that make Barrow a great place to visit.
Barrow-in-Furness is steeped in heritage, brimming with exciting attractions and offers great choice and value when it comes to accommodation. This historic borough enjoys an enviable coastal location on the doorstep of the Lake District National Park.
