Local salon celebrates 2 years in businesses

NJ Beauty is celebrating its second birthday, with owner Natasha reflecting on just how far the business has come. 

Starting her career in beauty over 12 years ago at Halo Hair & Beauty on Buccleuch Street, Natasha learned the foundations of the industry and built the beginnings of her loyal client base. Many of her very first clients are still with her today, with Halo giving her the opportunity to learn and grow. 

After COVID, Natasha felt the need for a change and a new challenge, and joined the team at Mia Bella on Scott Street. Talking about Mia Bella, Natasha said: “Those amazing women helped me grow both personally and professionally, giving me the confidence, support and encouragement I needed to eventually take the leap and open my own salon.”

In August 2024, NJ Beauty was born. The vision was simple - to create a space where everyone feels welcome, comfortable and completely themselves. A salon that’s relaxed, friendly and judgement free, while still delivering exceptional treatments and results.

Specialising in laser hair removal and waxing, Natasha helps clients feel more confident with safe, effective treatments tailored to their individual needs. 

With a team of self-employed professionals helping make NJ Beauty what it is today, the salon offers skincare and electrolysis, HD Brows and brow lamination, lashes and nail treatments. 

Natasha said: “Watching these incredible women grow their own businesses within NJ Beauty Retreat has been one of my proudest achievements. Seeing them flourish while creating such a supportive environment for one another is exactly what I hoped this little salon would become.

I'd also like to say a huge thank you to our fellow businesses on Scott Street. The support, friendship and community spirit between local independents is something really special, and I truly believe it helps make Scott Street one of the most welcoming places to shop and visit in Barrow.
