Festival of Transport registration opens for 2026 event

February 4, 2026

Registration for vehicles to exhibit at the 2026 Festival of Transport in Barrow town centre is now open.

Following an incredible 2025 event, which saw 280 vehicle registrations, this year’s event on Saturday 18th July will showcase vehicles from across the North West. As Barrow’s biggest classic car event, entries are welcome from classic, prestige and other vehicles of interest. The 2025 event even featured not one but two hovercrafts, so organisers are well used to welcoming some of the more unusual entries!

Barrow town centre streets will be taken over with cars, motorcycles and plenty of family friendly entertainment for the event. With the return of crowd favourite On The Edge Motorcycle Stunt Show, the day promises to be filled with excitement for all ages.

Matt Blackburn, Festival of Transport Committee member, said “We are looking forward to welcoming vehicles of all shapes and sizes to the town centre for another incredible event this year. With some unusual vehicles at last year’s event, we are hoping for some even more unique entries this year!”

With everything from lorries to fire engines, this year’s Festival of Transport is set to be another busy one. Street entertainers will help create a lively atmosphere as visitors explore the exhibitor vehicles, meet their owners and hear the stories behind them.

The event welcomes all forms of transport, with the Green Zone, sponsored by BAE Systems, returning for 2026 to showcase eco-friendly modes of travel. Previous events have featured mountain bike stunt shows, along with contributions from Youthability Wheels4All and Active Cumbria, highlighting accessible and sustainable transport options.

Be part of this celebration of transport right here in Barrow town centre and register your vehicle now.
