Barrow’s best loyalty schemes - the Duke of Edinburgh Hotel

September 9, 2026

You’ll be hard pushed to find a cosier venue in Barrow to enjoy a good pint. With their cosy booths to sink into, low lighting and relaxed vibe, the Duke of Edinburgh Hotel is the perfect place to unwind after a long day.

Built in 1871 when Barrow in Furness was one of the most prosperous towns in Victorian Britain, the Duke of Edinburgh Hotel was designed and constructed to be the town’s premier hostelry. Taken over by Lancaster Brewery in 2006, the Duke retains all the charm you’d expect from a venue that once hosted guests like Charlie Chaplin, DH Lawrence and Clarke Gable.

It’s easy to see why this historical hotel has become a destination for Barrovians and visitors on a night out - and it’s not just the great atmosphere. As part of Lancaster Brewery’s small collection of pubs and hotels, they offer the full range of Lancaster Brewery’s main range. These delicious beers are complemented by a carefully selected and constantly rotating group of guest ales, ranging from the famous brands to the extremely eclectic.

Accompanied by an impressive and ever changing food menu, the bar and restaurant offers a dining experience that makes popping to your local feel like an occasion. And now with the introduction of their new loyalty scheme, there’s even more reason to make the Duke of Ed your pub of choice.

Lancaster Brewery ale drinkers can collect a card from the bar and start receiving stamps, with one collected for every pint. Once you’ve collected 9 stamps, your tenth pint is on them.

“We wanted to keep our loyalty scheme simple and give something back to our regular cask ale drinkers. Buy nine cask pints and your 10th – one of our Lancaster Brewery ales – is on us. It’s our little way of saying thank you for supporting the pub, the brewery and great cask beer.”

This unique loyalty scheme turns every visit into an opportunity to collect a reward, so whether you’re settling in for a quiet pint, enjoying a meal with friends or making a night of it, there’s never been a better excuse to raise a glass at the Duke of Edinburgh Hotel.
