1. Meet local author Helen Phifer and get your book signed

Waterstones are welcoming local author Helen Phifer, celebrating the release of her brand new book The Book of Unwritten Stories. Helen will be signing from 1pm, with copies of her novels available in store.

2. Celebrate Craft Ale Week in "Barrow's Living Room"

📍The White Lion, Mount Pleasant

📅 17th-27th September

Celebrate all things Craft Ale at The White Lion, with everything from £2.50 pints to a special cask ale quiz at the end of the week! Follow them on socials to keep up to date with everything happening during the week.

3. Shop unique gifts and get a head start on present buying

4. Enjoy a night of country music at Barrow Town Hall

A celebration of homegrown Country and Americana artists comes to Barrow Town Hall, with local Furness acts bringing you a special evening of live Country and Americana music. 2025’s inaugural ‘Furness Country’ proved to be a huge success and Sugarfoot are delighted to be bringing together a new bill of acts for 2026, featuring; John Viles & Band, Country Cousins & Band, Moonlighters and hosts Sugarfoot.
