The Festival of Transport returns to Barrow for 2026! From admiring classic vehicles, hopping aboard a vintage bus, to watching thrilling stunt displays, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Bring the whole family and experience a fantastic free day out in Barrow town centre.

1. Browse hundreds of classic and prestige vehicles


Whether you're a vehicle enthusiast at heart or simply looking for something different to do, Barrow town centre's streets will be lined with an impressive display of cars, bikes, trucks and more this weekend, offering plenty to see for visitors of all ages.

2. Enjoy two thrilling stunt shows

Get ready for plenty of thrills as the On The Edge Motorcycle Stunt Show takes over the Town Square Arena, while the Extreme MTB Stunt Show brings high-flying action to Scott Street. These seasoned professionals are experts in their field and are guaranteed to put on an unforgettable performance.

3. Hop aboard a vintage bus and take in Barrow's scenery

A highlight of the Festival of Transport, the Barrow Transport Museum Trust will take you on a journey back in time aboard a vintage bus, allowing you to enjoy the sights and scenery of Barrow in a truly unique way. With routes running throughout Barrow, Walney and Roa Island, you can hop on and off for free and discover the area from a different perspective while enjoying a ride on a piece of local transport history.

4. Complete fun activities for your chance to win a prize

Ready for a load of free activities? Join in the event stamp trail, visit participating businesses and collect stamps as you go - you may just win a prize! With activities ranging from bath bomb painting to cookie decorating, the stamp trail is sure to keep little ones busy all day.

5. Get creative with craft workshops for all ages and abilities

Drawing on cars, making bridges and blasting off into space are just some of the activities that await at this year's event! You'll find craft and STEM activities in The Bridge on Portland Walk, the art car from BarrowFull on the Town Square, plus Ragtag Arts caravan on the Outdoor Market.
