Festival of Transport LogoFollowing the success of the Barrow Classic & Vintage Car & Bike Show in 2018, the event has had a rebrand for 2019 and becomes the Barrow Festival of Transport.  Barrow BID has formed a committee to organise the event in 2019 and once again we are seeking vintage and classic vehicle owners to show their pride and joy in the heart of Barrow town centre.   The event provides vehicle owners with the opportunity to showcase their vehicle in the Northern industrial town of Barrow in Furness and as well as FREE entry, each participant will receive a food and drink voucher to use in a town centre café.  The vehicles will be parked along pedestrianised areas of the town centre, including the main shopping streets of Dalton Road, Portland Walk and Scott Street. Vehicles will arrive between 9am and 9.45am to be in place for a 10am start and a procession of vehicles will mark the end of the day at 3pm.  We are aiming to make 2019 bigger and better, with more vehicles and more attractions, so if you have a vintage, classic, prestige or interesting vehicle and would like to take part, or would like your club to be involved in this day...   REGISTER YOUR VEHICLE HERE

Why does the event help to support local businesses?

Barrow BID Manager, Colin Garnett, said, “The Festival of Transport is perfect for Barrow Town Centre as it enables us to locate vehicles right up Dalton Road, meaning businesses from High Street to Harrison Street and Barrow's Indoor Market will feel the positive effects of increased footfall. The vehicles add colour and interest to the town, which is something we would like to do on a permanent basis.

Barrow BID are committed to putting on high class events in the town centre or working in partnership with event companies and local talent to provide quality entertainment and attract people to the town centre. We need to ensure that businesses get return on investment from the BID and we see more positive events like the Festival of Transport in Barrow town centre.”
